The former Cologne boss replaced Peter Bosz at the helm of the German side during the season, securing a spot in next term’s Champions League with a fourth-place finish in the Bundesliga.

But Stoger has confirmed he will not be part of the club’s future, telling reporters the decision had been made in advance.

“This was my last game for the Dortmund, which we decided to do together some time ago,” he said. “A new stimulus with a new coach, will do the club well.”
