According to reports Man Utd are keeping tabs on Valencia centre-forward Maxi Gomez
Maximiliano has scored nine goals in 18 La Liga games for his new side after netting 30 times in his two campaigns with Celta. Man United have been following his progress closely and that scouts were in attendance at the Mestalla on the weekend as Gomez scored twice in a 2-0 win against Blaugrana.
No move is expected during the current transfer window, but the 23-year-old striker is on the list of targets that the Norwegian coach would like to recruit in the summer if he is still in a job. However, the Uruguayan centre-forward is unlikely to come cheap as Valencia inserted a release clause in his deal worth €140m.
Red Devils would certainly not be willing to meet that valuation, but with the release clause in place and his contract running until the summer of 2024, La Liga giants are in a powerful bargaining position. Maximiliano came close to moving to West Ham United in the summer before Valencia pounced for his signature.
