Real Madrid are desperate to secure the services of Paul Pogba and even offered up Gareth Bale as bait, to lure him away from the Old Trafford.

Los Blancos head-coach Zinedine Zidane has a long-running interest in French midfielder.

He was desperate to secure the services his compatriot in the summer, however, couldn’t get a transfer over the line.

After a challenging start to the campaign, the Los Blancos are now looking the real deal in the Spanish top-tier sitting only two points behind from first-place Barcelona.

Nevertheless, Zinedine Zidane still views French midfielder as the missing piece in the Los Blancos midfield area.

And, according to Spanish media outlet El Desmarque , Real Madrid are keen on to geth the deal done for Frenchman this month.

It’s suggested Colombian international James Rodriguez has already been offered in part exchange, along with £27m.

That offer was knocked back by the 20-times English champions and now they are ready to offer also Gareth Bale.

Real were eager to offload the Wales international forward last summer and using him as a bait to lure Pogba.

He caused fury during the last international break after he was pictured holding a flag adorned with ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid’.

“There is too much noise with Bale. He wants to be with us and do it well,” said Real boss Zinedine Zidane said in the aftermath.

“I hope this doesn’t carry on for the rest of the season

“We want the fans to be with us from the beginning to the end, but we cannot control that.”
