Spurs attacker Christian Eriksen has held negotiations with RedDevils over a potential transfer in winter. The 27-year-old forward’s current deal with Tottenham expires at the end of the campaign, which means he could leave on a free transfer in the summer.

But the London club could use the winter window as their final opportunity to recoup a transfer fee for the attacker. Real Madrid also registered their interest in sign Christian earlier this year but the forward was not their first-choice target to bolster their front-line.

Eriksen is now ‘tired of waiting for Madrid’ and is exploring alternative options. One of which is a move to the Red Devils and the report claims Tottenham’s Premier League rivals have held negotiations with Denmark international last month.

Norwegian manager is said to be keen on signing Danish star as he views the attacker as the great partner for Paul Pogba in Man United’s midfield. The report further claims that the Red Devils will offer £42m to Tottenham for the versatile attacker.

Earlier this week, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino defended Christian after the attacker has received criticism for his performances this campaign. ‘I don’t think the performance of Eriksen is any different than when we signed him five-and-a-half years ago,’ said the Argentine tactician.
