Ander Herrera has questioned the priorities of Red Devils, claiming football is not the most important thing at the Old Trafford. Spain international left Man United at the end of his deal last summer and linked up with Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.

Ander was a hugely popular figure in his five years at Theatre of Dreams but feels the Red Devils has lost focus of what matters. ‘I was delighted at that incredible team. I am very grateful to the supporters,’ Herrera said.

‘I don’t know, but football was not the most important thing in Manchester. ‘I do not want to compare, all I know is that here, I feel like I’m breathing football on all sides. And I like it.’ The 30-year-old midfielder left the Red Devils after failing to come to terms over a new contract, accusing the board of dragging their feet in talks.

Man United boss Ed Woodward has faced a steady stream of criticism in previous years, with Gary Neville calling for his sacking earlier this campaign. Man United have suffered a drastic downturn in consequences since 2013 and current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is facing an uphill contest to turn results around.
