Man Utd closing in on a deal for highly-rated English forward

Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer a new deal to youngster Mason Greenwood.

After impressing in the academy setup, the 17-year-old forward has been provided with several first-team games by Norwegian boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Partly due to Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku having left Old Trafford, Greenwood already has one start and six substitute appearences to his name in the English top-tier and expected to become one of the key players for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in the nearby future.

Despite having only signed a new deal back in 2018, The Athletic claims that the Red Devils starlet is on the verge of signing a contract extension with the 20-times English champions.

The report suggested that the teenager will be handed terms of around £25,000 a-week, which will also include a number of bonuses.

Greenwood currently finds himself as a backup to centre forward Marcus Rashford.

Meanwhile, Scottish giants Celtic have secure services of Dutch full-back Jeremie Frimpong from Manchester City, and Manchester United defender Lee O’Connor, according to the BBC reports.

Both defensive pair join on four-year deals with the Scottish Premiership defending champions.

Neither O’Connor, 18 nor Frimpong, 19, have made a first-team appearance for the Manchester teams, however, both of them have been tipped to have a bright future and regular first-team football at Celtic could help them to continue their development.
