Rio Ferdinand Blames One Player For Man Utd’s 1-1 Draw

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has blamed a defender for the Red Devils 1-1 draw against hosts Southampton in what was the first game of the weekend.

Rio Ferdinand blamed the Manchester United defender while he was doing his punditry work on BT Sports as he said that the lone goal scored by the hosts could have been avoided if they took responsibility for the situation.

Rio Ferdinand went on to single out Victor Lindelof who was marking Yannik Vestergaard when the Southampton center-back rose above him to head a Kevin Danso cross into the back of the net in the second half.

That Southampton goal canceled the first-half strike from the in-form Daniel James for Manchester United.

The Welshman has made a fantastic start to his Manchester United career and that was his third Premier League strike this season.

He has started three games and also comes on as a second-half substitute in one game.

Manchester United had opportunities to add to the 10th-minute strike from Daniel James but they were unable to achieve that as a result of poor finishing.

The missed opportunities came back to haunt Manchester United in the second half through the Vestergaard goal for Southampton who finished the game with 10 men after the aforementioned Danso was given a red card for two yellow cards with 18 minutes left on the clock.
