Man Utd urged to re-sign world-class no.9

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should attempt to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to the Red Devils, according to Paul Ince.

Alexis Sanchez have completed his season-long loan switch to leave the Old Trafford outfit short for attacking options.

The Chilean star will be reunited with the Belgian star Romelu Lukaku in Milan after the Belgian also left Manchester United for £73 million earlier in the summer transfer window.

Ole is expected to give opportunities to academy products such as 17-year-old Mason Greenwood and 18-year-old Angel Gomes as a result.

That heaps pressure on Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who will miss this weekend’s game versus Southampton through injury, to provide goals.

And Ince believes the Norwegian should be looking to re-sign LA Galaxy’s striker Ibrahimovic, who recently seemed open to returning to Manchester, to help them.

“They need a goalscorer, a Harry Kane or a Sergio Aguero. Someone that scores goals for fun, makes it look easy,” – Paul said.

“Yes, they’ve got Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford who will create something, but will they score you 25 or 30 goals a season? No.”

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic hinted this week that he might go back, and that’s not a bad idea. I’ve watched him in the MLS a few times and his record is phenomenal.”

Ibrahimovic netted 17 goals and laid on five assists in the English top-flight for Manchester United before leaving in March 2018.

He battled back from knee ligament damage during his second campaign with United and has since scored 44 MLS goals in 49 matches.
