Sorry Tottenham as Manchester United have ‘made five-year contract offer’ to sign £70m maestro Eriksen

Manchester United have reportedly offered Christian Eriksen a five-year contract as they attempt to sign the Tottenham midfielder.

Eriksen has become a vital part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side over the past few seasons and is one of the creative reasons why they score so many goals throughout the course of the season, but there has been speculation that he could leave the club.

It is believed that the Danish star has refused three contract offers from Spurs over the past few months, with the latest reportedly close to the £110,000-a-week mark, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Barcelona all keeping a close eye.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a firm favourite to the midfielder, and would love to add his creativity to a United side that is lacking in top-class talent.

Tottenham are in a predicament, with Eriksen unwilling to sign a contract extension as he enters the final 12 months of his deal and it would mean he’d be free to talk to other clubs from January.

But according to Spanish publication AS, Eriksen is ‘convinced’ by United’s project and would earn a salary close to Paul Pogba’s were he to join the Red Devils.

Eriksen is a man that is hit and miss and many Spurs fans would love to see him leave, and replaced by a midfielder that is more influential in the big games.

United are in need of adding some creativity and quality to their side in the last few weeks of the transfer window, and although Eriksen can be hit or miss, there has been no doubt that he has been one of the most creative players in the Premier League.

United could be a great move for the player as he would fit into Solskjaer’s side very easily, but it will be interesting to see just where he ends up this summer, as he is surely set to leave the club?
