Solskjaer bids €60 million for Ajax Champions League hero




Manchester United’s €60 million bid for the forward David Neres has been turned down by Ajax. The Dutch Champions are crystal clear about their intentions to hold on the forward, albeit interest from a host of clubs.

The 22-year-old was a cardinal member of Erik Ten Haag’s Ajax, who have already lost Matthijs De Ligt, Frenkie De Jong, and Lassa Schone in the summer window. To lessen the pressure, the Dutch club has told the Premier League side that David Neres would not be sold at any cost, according to UOL. He scored 12 goals in all competitions last season, and helped his side win the domestic double and Champions League Semifinal spot.

The Brazilian outlet also claims that the winger’s representatives have travelled to Europe to negotiate for a new contract. It is also believed that the new deal is in an advanced stage, which could shape up his future in the coming years.

The Dutch club have already 50 million bid turned down last week as Ajax seek no lesser than €70 million for his sale. With the plot getting completed altered with a new contract, Ajax would demand a ludicrous fee to put off the suitors.

Manchester United are looking to sign a right-winger or an attacking midfielder before the culmination of the transfer window. Paulo Dybala, Bruno Fernandes, and Christian Eriksen are linked with the club, but they are set to lose out on the trio.

The Red Devils have already wrapped up the signatures of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Daniel James. The latter two have looked bright in the pre-season, while Maguire could make his first appearance against Chelsea at Old Trafford in the opening game of the Premier League this season
