Bruno Fernandes has reportedly been pulled out of Sporting Lisbon friendly game amid reports linking him with a move to Man United.
Man United are looking to sign a creative midfielder that would feed the strikers endlessly with good passes and they have been heavily linked with a move for Fernandes.
Juan Mata is the most creative Man United player but he has been unable to stake in a claim in the first team of the side.
Although Fernandes can play from the wing as well, but he had his best season yet as an attacking midfielder for Sporting last term. He scored 20 goals and provided 13 assists for the club in the Liga Nos last term and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly wants him.
United have reported to have held talks with the agent of the midfielder but his price tag has presented a stumbling block to the deal for him.
And now, according Sportwitness who cited a report from Correio da Manhã, Fernandes would be dropped from the squad that will play against Rapperswil-Jona, this is as a precautionary measure for him not to get injured following his expected transfer.
Speculation over the future of Paul Pogba has continued to draw strength, leaving Sporting in a position to sell Fernandes to United, hence, they are meticulous in handling him.
Barring this report, United appear to be in the chase of Sergej Milinković-Savić, who is viewed a proper replacement for Pogba.
