Manchester United have accepted Burton Albion’s loan offer for their goaltender Kieran O’Hara .
O’Hara, 23, has been with the Red Devils since he was eight but hasn’t gotten a taste of first-team action at Old Trafford.
The Republic of Ireland’s U21 goalie is happy to have joined the Brewers for the upcoming season and he hopes to make a meaningful impact on the team’s display throughout the campaign.
The goalie has been from one loan to another but last season’s loan spell at League Two side Macclesfield was a memorable one as he won the best player of the season award.
Speaking after completing his season-long loan switch to Burton, O’Hara revealed his readiness to up his game in next season.
O’Hara said: “I’m ready to step up to that next level and show that I’m more than capable of climbing the leagues and reaching, hopefully one day, the Premier League,”
He also confessed his desire to becoming a senior Ireland player in the nearest future. According to him, his performances with Burton will play a huge role in his chances of getting his first call-up to Ireland’s main squad.
“I hope I can play regularly and put in top performances for Burton. If that’s recognized, hopefully that will help me make the next step of becoming a full senior international.” he said.
