Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes is reportedly expecting to make the move to Manchester United before the close of the Premier League transfer window.
The Portuguese has been earmarked as one of the prime targets to bolster the club’s midfield this summer following his stellar campaign in Portugal, where he bagged 20 goals and 13 assists in the league.
According to Correia da Manha via Sport Witness, Fernandes is calm regarding his future and he expects to make the move to Old Trafford before the transfer deadline.
The same outlet reveals that United are still formulating a transfer package for the midfielder, who was recently victorious with Portugal at the Nations League.
Sporting were initially demanding around £70m for their prized asset but recent reports have suggested that the club’s president may be prepared to settle for something around £54m.
Still, that figure remains above United’s £40m valuation for the 24-year-old and the next few days may give a better indication whether the club can find the breakthrough with the Primeira Liga giants.
