Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has made up his mind to end his second spell at Old Trafford this summer, and Real Madrid are tipped as his next destination despite interest from Juventus.
As for United, they have resolved into finding his perfect replacement as it appears they have no control over the player’s future.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has emerged as Solskjaer’s best man to replace the want-away midfielder.
Spanish media outlet AS, via the Daily Express, claim that the Red Devils are spotting their searchlight on the Atletico Madrid star.
The 24-year-old is no doubt a good replacement for Pogba considering his attacking instinct and his ability to give defense-splitting passes just like the Frenchman.
However, the same source revealed that Niguez has a £143m releases clause in his current contract with the Roji Blancos, which could be a stumbling block to United’s dream of capturing the Spanish international.
Niguez still has an active contract with the La Liga Champions which will expires in 2026 and Diego Simeone can’t afford losing the reliable midfielder this summer.
Niguez has been with the Madrid club since 2012 and he has featured in 159 games with 18 goals to show for it.
