Manchester United academy Alfie Hughes has disclosed his departure from Old Trafford this summer as he Joins Leeds United for the upcoming season, per reports.

The 16-year-old midfielder revealed via his Instagram account that he’s no longer part of the Red Devils after completing his quiet switch to the Championship side on Thursday.

Hughes wrote on his Instagram page that leaving the Theater of Dreams was a tough decision to make because the club has become part of him. However, he revealed his readiness for the task ahead of him at his new club.

Hughes joined United in 2018 from Middleborough but he couldn’t progress through the ranks. The youngster still has huge years ahead of him and he might still find his way back to Old Trafford in the nearest future.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly beaten Manchester City, Juventus, PSG and Barcelona to the services of 19-year-old Ajax centre-back Matthijs De Light.

According to French journalist Jullen Laurens, the Red Devils have reached an agreement with the Eredivisie Champions and they are set to capture his signature.

A £78m price tag is placed on the youngster’s signature, and it is said that Solskjaer’s employers have unexpectedly met Ajax’s demand.
