Man United can sign former Inter Milan defender this summer for £52m

Juventus are reportedly open to selling defender Joao Cancelo to Manchester United in summer.

United coach Ole Gunner Solskjaer is prepared to oversee a major overhaul of his roster at the end of the campaign after the Red Devils missed out on UCL football, and the defence is believed to be a major department that he is looking to upgrade.

The latest reports then suggested that Manchester United are readying an offer of £42 million for Joao to try and tempt Bianconeri to part with their prized full-back.

The Italian media stated last week that Portugal star will not be allowed to depart for any less than €60 million in summer, and that is the price the Red Devils will have to pay to prise him away from the club.

Calciomercato.com now issue an update on the situation by stating that the Old Lady would be very tempted by a proposal of £52m and would try and persuade the star to accept the move.

The report goes on to hint that the former Valencia and Inter Milan man would likely not reject a move anyway as he doesn’t get along with manager Massimiliano Allegri.

In other news, Manchester United are reportedly trying to sign Monterrey midfielder Carlos Rodriguez.

The Red Devils have already confirmed that Spanish star Ander Herrera will depart Old Trafford this summer, and Los Pleyers claims club officials were present to watch Carlos in action for Monterrey who played versus Necaxa on Monday night, with negotiations later being held with the talent’s representative.
