Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hold imminent showdown talks with Romelu Lukaku over the striker’s future at Old Trafford.
The Belgian forward has endured a tough campaign at the struggling Red Devils, and has been linked with a move to Italy at the end of this season.
According to the Evening Standard , Solskjaer wants to meet with Lukaku next week to discuss his plans this summer.
Solskjaer is preparing for a huge squad overhaul this summer after a miserable season and, while the striker isn’t up for sale yet, the under-fire manager is keen to sit down with the striker.
The Belgium forward hasn’t quite hit the heights expected of him after arriving in a £75milion move from Everton in 2017.
He didn’t quite flourish under Jose Mourinho – who was sacked last December – and the hitman has similarly found it tough under the Portuguese’s successor Solskjaer.
It’s claimed that while United aren’t actively looking to sell Lukaku this summer, they will listen to any realistic offers.
The club, however, are keen to recoup the money they paid Everton to sign him at the beginning of last season.
Solskjaer is looking to bolster his attacking ranks but, at it stands, is planning to include Lukaku as part of his attack next season.
The 25-year-old has 15 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions this season, though he hasn’t scored in his last eight games.
